Dessert First 

Dallas CASA is a non-profit organization of volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in protective care. CASA volunteers gather information and make recommendations to help judges decide what is best for each child.

 

Altrusa International, Inc. of Downtown Dallas is a group of professional women who commit our time, energy and passion to educating families for a better future.

Altrusa is a service organization for civic-minded people who strive to create better communities worldwide.

Our focus is on helping women and children in the Dallas Metroplex and our inspiration is "Educating Families for a Better Future".

Our club is affiliated with Altrusa International, Inc., which  has 354 clubs worldwide. Altrusa is a builder of women.

Since 1982, our club's extremely successful fundraising projects have raised more than $750,000 for community grants and we have contributed over 80,000 hours in hands-on service to local agencies.

Altrusa raises money to support local community organizations through donations, Dessert First and the sale of European style gourmet chocolates.

Chocolate, for Goodness' sake!

Every year the Altrusa International, Inc. of Downtown Dallas Foundation awards grants to selected non-profit organizations in the Dallas area.

Altrusa combines these grants with hands-on service projects by our members.

Proceeds from Dessert First go to the Altrusa International, Inc. of Downtown Dallas Foundation, 501(c) (3).  This delightful event features chocolate, champagne and more.

This year Altrusa has selected Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to be the primary beneficiary of Dessert First.
